Business Directory Submission Checklist

Business directories help a business get found in Google maps, and help develop more credibility and trust, as well as occasionally more traffic and sales. Here is the information you need to have prepared before creating your business directories (which are called citations).

Name Of Business or Entity:
Address:
Phone:
Email:
Hours:
Holiday Hours:
Short Description: (about 300 characters)
Long Description: (up to 500 characters)
Website:
Profile Photo:
3-5 Photos Of Business:

Name: The name MUST match everywhere possible it is mentioned if it is for the same non-franchised company. And it should be your actual business name (without the corp/llc extension). So make sure it is exactly what it should be, every where you want it mentioned.

Address: Make sure the address is one you will have for a while, a standalone office or building is best, do not use a UPS or PO mailbox, you can use a home address, but be mindful that you own and do business at that property are are OK with it being widely public

Profile Photo: Size is 400×400 will fit everywhere. Happy smiling faces get less bad reviews, gain more trust and credibility and generally bring more sales; pictures of the business as profile photos get less results than pics of people.

Photos of Business: Inside, outside and at work pictures or before/afters when it’s appropriate are very helpful.

WRITING THE DESCRIPTION

Explain who you are, what you do and why you do it. Don’t get fancy. If a 4 year old couldn’t figure it out, it’s wrong.

Example: The #1 window cleaning company in Wichita for over 20 years. We use ultra high purity water to get a spotless, streak free shine for homes, businesses and hi-rises.
